Location and Climate!!​

The Netherlands is located on the Northwestern portion of Europe. The climate in the Netherlands is mild. In the winter the average temperature is 36 degrees F. In the summer it is an average temperature is 66 degrees F. The geography is mostly lowland coastal areas, since it borders the North Sea. The lowest point is Zuidplaspolder which is 7m above sea level. The highest point is Vaalserburg at 322m above sea level.

The above map shows where the Netherlands are in Europe and how it compares in size to other countries in Europe. The Netherlands is one of the smallest European countries. It shows the bordering countries. These are Germany and Belgium.The North Sea is the only body of water that The Netherlands borders. It also shows a close up of the Netherlands, where you can easily see its shape. It is shaped somewhat like a diamond or square.

These are Groningen, Friesland, Drenthe, Overijssel, Flevoland, Gelderland, Noord Holland, Utretch, Zuid Holland, Noord-Brabant, Umberg, and Zeeland. The capitol of the Netherlands is Amsterdam which is in the Noord Holland province. Also the biggest province in The Netherlands is Gelderland. The smallest is Utrecht. You can also see the bordering countries which are Germany and Belgium, along with the bordering water of the North Sea.

This river streches 575 miles through the southern portion of The Netherlands. Another river is the Waal river. This river flows 50 miles until in joins with the Maas river. This is also in the southern tip of the Netherlands. A river in Europe that flows through the Netherlands and streches a whopping 820 miles is the Rhino river. This map also shows the bordering countries of Belgium and Germany. The North Sea is visible bordering this country. The cities are marked with a dot by their name while the capitol, Amsterdam, is marked by a star.

The map above shows the population in different parts of the Netherlands. The tan areas show a population of 0 to 100 per kilometer. The mint green areas show a population of 100 to 200 people per kilometer. The lighter green areas show 200 to 300 people per kilometer populating them. Finally the areas that are dark green show a population of 1000 and above people per kilometer. Plus you can see the cities marked by dots and Amsterdam,the capitol, marked with a star.
